💙 Heart & Soul Beware | January Newsletter 💙
A Season of Intention, Hope, and Becoming
As a new year begins, January invites us to move with care rather than urgency. It asks us to listen more closely, to soften our pace, and to make space for what is still becoming.
This season is not about performance or pressure. It is about presence. It is about choosing meaning over momentum and clarity over noise. At Heart & Soul Beware, January opens with reflection, honoring what has carried us forward and what is still unfolding.
This month’s Spotlight was originally intended to honor a woman whose story is marked by faith, resilience, and perseverance. After thoughtful reflection, she chose to step back and protect her peace. That choice deserves respect.
Some stories are not meant to be told on a timeline. Some courage looks like waiting.
So, this January, the Heart & Soul Spotlight turns both inward and outward toward the quiet strength that sustains us, and toward the many forms of leadership that do not seek attention but still have the power to change lives and open new paths.
I remain deeply grateful to the people who have accepted my invitation to share their stories through the Heart & Soul Spotlight.
Marchele, who reminds us that care can be crafted by hand and healing can be woven slowly and with purpose.
Kelsey Nicole Nelson, whose belief in literacy as liberation continues to open doors and futures.
Dr. Wanda S. Briscoe, whose life reflects faith in motion and restoration through courage.
Kimberly Bannister, whose leadership proves that resilience does not need to be loud to be powerful.
Each of these extraordinary women reflects a different expression of strength, reminding us that impact is not defined by visibility, but by intention. To learn more about our 2025 Spotlights, visit our Heart & Soul Spotlight Archive.
As we move forward, upcoming Spotlights will center on lived experience shaped by hope, joy, perseverance, grief, healing, faith, survival, becoming, and philanthropy. Leadership will appear in these stories, but not always in titles or platforms. Sometimes leadership is quiet endurance. Sometimes it is choosing to keep going. Sometimes it is choosing to rest.
The Heart & Soul Spotlight is not reserved for organizations or public figures alone. It exists to honor people and the communities that shape us. Those navigating loss, rebuilding after hardship, healing from trauma, reclaiming their voices, or carrying others through difficult storms or seasons. It also holds space for those leading organizations, initiatives, and community efforts rooted in care rather than recognition.
These stories are not performances. They are lived truths. Some are still unfolding. Some are shared only when the moment feels safe. All offer validation, encouragement, and connection.
If you know someone or an organization whose story deserves to be honored, or if you feel called to share your own, you are warmly invited. Those are the stories that are welcome here. This space is intentional, grounded, and human. It exists to honor the full spectrum of becoming. Spotlight participant packets are available here.
🩷 The Circle
January’s reflection invites stillness rather than striving.
“What are you choosing to carry forward, and what are you finally ready to release?”
The Circle exists as a space for thoughtful reflection, gentle honesty, and shared humanity. Your reflections continue to shape this community in meaningful ways.
Participation in The Circle also includes entry into upcoming giveaways, offered as small gestures of gratitude for the presence you bring.
