💙 Heart & Soul Beware | November Newsletter 💙

Still showing up, even when I feel myself fading.

The Joy We Did Not See Coming

I want to begin a little more personally this month.

I have been busy, and I have felt overwhelmed. Alongside the work of Heart & Soul Beware, I have taken on a support role for three people in my life. I have been trying to show up for them while finding that I do not always have the capacity left to show up for myself.

I care about being there for them. I am also tired. There are things I need that I have struggled to give my own attention.

Much of my creative focus has been on getting Diamond Heart, Frozen Souls published. There are still steps to complete, and I am uncertain whether publication will happen before the end of 2026. I am continuing the work. I am also disappointed that it has taken longer than I hoped.

There is no new Leadership Moment or Within piece this month. November’s offerings include the Monthly Reflection, blog, interactive reflection, updated H&SB Circle questions, and member discount.

I do not have a resolution to share yet. Some days, I feel encouraged by the progress. Other days, I feel the weight of what remains.

I wanted to be honest about that here. If you are supporting others while struggling to attend to yourself, or carrying something that is taking longer than you expected, you are not alone in that experience.

November’s reflections turn toward receiving.

A kind word, a thoughtful gesture, or a tangible gift can mean something to us that we did not recognize when it arrived. Its value may become clearer later, through an ordinary moment, an unexpected pleasure, or words that return when we need them.

This month, I wanted to make room for those experiences and what we come to appreciate through them.

💜 MONTHLY REFLECTION

What We Come to Appreciate

We do not always recognize the value of a gift when it arrives.

We may have hoped for something else. We may receive it with appreciation and disappointment. Its place in our lives may become clearer only through experience.

What We Come to Appreciate invites us to remain attentive to what unfolds after the offering reaches us.

Our first response belongs to that moment. It may not hold everything we will come to know.

🩷 STUDIO REFLECTION

What We Did Not Know to Want

A few words spoken in passing may become encouragement we carry. An invitation we nearly declined may become a memory we revisit. A gift may introduce an enjoyment we did not know we had.

This month’s Studio Reflection follows those small discoveries and the surprise of finding value beyond our first impression.

Featured line:
Sometimes appreciation arrives quietly, well after the thank-you.

💙 MONTHLY REFLECTION EXPERIENCE

What Are You Coming to Appreciate?

November’s interactive experience offers five questions about receiving.

Consider what you hoped for, the care you noticed, what experience revealed, or what remains uncertain. Your responses lead to a reflection and a question to carry with you.

Choose what feels closest today.

💜 HEART & SOUL BEWARE CIRCLE

What Stayed With You?

This month, the Circle makes room for your stories of unexpected appreciation.

  • What kind word has stayed with you? Has its meaning changed since you first heard it?

  • When has a gesture meant more to you later than it did in the moment?

  • What did you receive with little enthusiasm that eventually brought unexpected enjoyment or value?

  • What happened between your first response and your later appreciation?

  • What have you discovered that you enjoy, need, or value through something you never thought to ask for?

You may share a memory, respond to one question, or simply spend time with what others offer.

There is room for experiences you understand clearly and those you are still considering.

Seasonal flavors have arrived in the H&SB Coffee & Tea Shop, including Autumn Chapter (Pumpkin Spice), Shared Tradition (Pecan Pie), Winter Prelude (Candy Cane), and Gathered Stories (Christmas Blend).

Perhaps one brings a familiar flavor to your morning. Perhaps another becomes something you look forward to sharing.

For your own cup or a gift chosen with someone in mind, I hope you discover something to enjoy this season.

💙💜🩷 LOOKING AHEAD

I am entering this month with work still unfinished and questions I cannot yet answer.

I am still here, continuing what I can. I am also aware that I need care and attention in my own life.

If that feels familiar, there is room for your experience here, too. You do not need to have reached a conclusion to join the conversation.

Thank you for spending part of your month with Heart & Soul Beware.

With gratitude,
B. M. Barnes
